[Bluesquare news] Adapting malaria interventions through the SNT approach

Subnational Tailoring (SNT) aims to tailor malaria control interventions at a local level, based on risk stratification, impact and cost modelling of these interventions, such as vector control, preventive treatment, immunization and management.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the malaria situation varies greatly from one area to another, this approach is key to better targeting interventions.

From April 20 to 22 in Kinshasa 🇨🇩, a technical workshop brought together the teams of the National Malaria Control Program (PNLP), PATH, ANICNS, DSE, and the DSNIS around the SNT toolbox developed by Bluesquare on the basis of OpenHEXA and a dedicated web application.

The participants worked concretely on:
• Data integration and analysis (NMDR, climate data, etc.)
• Production of lamination layers with OpenHexa
• The construction of intervention mix scenarios

The aim is to support the use of these tools to analyse data and plan appropriate interventions.
