Retour sur l’atelier de formation EnDoP au Niger

In Niger, malaria remains the leading cause of death. With more than 7.3 million cases and 8,305 deaths recorded in 2024, the upward trend calls for a strong, coordinated response.

A data warehouse to guide the fight against malaria

To reverse this trend, the Ministry of Health (MSPH) reached a key milestone with the Malaria Data Warehouse (Entrepôt de Données sur le Paludisme, EnDoP). Its goal: to centralize, structure, and make use of health information for precise, responsive decision-making.

Focus on Maradi: putting EnDoP into practice at regional level

🎯 After an initial phase for central-level stakeholders last May, the city of Maradi hosted a strategic workshop for regional stakeholders from July 14 to 16, 2026.

📍 Priority participants: the Heads of Health Information Planning and Management Services and the Regional Malaria Control Coordinators.

By mastering EnDoP, these experts strengthen the country’s ability to target its interventions as closely as possible to its needs.

A collective institutional effort

🤝 The success of this workshop rests on strong institutional coordination, led by these strategic directorates:

✅ National Malaria Control Program (PNLP);
✅ Directorate of Statistics (DS);
✅ Directorate of E-Health (DeS);
✅ Directorate of Epidemic Surveillance and Response (DSRE).
