The simplicity and benefits of going mobile, clearly demonstrate why it\u2019s the next step you should take in your data collection project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"52c2\">To respond to the ever growing need for mobile data collection, BlueSquare has developed its own tool: \u201cData Collect\u201d. The tool was developed based on pilots conducted over the last few years, and responds directly to needs voiced in the field. It consists of a mobile and a web application, and its key features include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"postList wp-block-list\"><li id=\"119e\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--p\">Offline data collection<\/li><li id=\"cadc\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Instant feedback on data collected<\/li><li id=\"0076\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Multi-media content<\/li><li id=\"7940\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Real-time data<\/li><li id=\"b897\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Interoperability with other software<\/li><li id=\"15f0\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Optimized data management<\/li><li id=\"0565\" class=\"graf graf--li graf-after--li\">Automated quality check<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--li wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"52b8\">More importantly, Data Collect is integrated with DHIS2 so that granular data captured in the field can be used in analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"fbf6\">To help you understand how Data Collect can benefit you, let me explain the tool, its process and how it improves the overall data collection process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"graf graf--h3 graf-after--p wp-block-heading\" id=\"64bb\">How it all comes&nbsp;together<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--h3 wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"0495\">Within each data collection project, the process starts with forms containing the questions to be asked. When starting, our team will help transform these questionnaires in the best way possible, so that you collect the information you need. Then, the digitization process of the questionnaire begins. Our mobile tool allows you to collect not just answers to questions, but many other data types such as pictures, videos, geo-location, etc. which will enrich the information collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image graf graf--figure graf-after--p\" id=\"832c\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.bluesquarehub.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/9475b-1zjkid-vt6opuqnmocgoujw.png\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"af7b\">After the questionnaires are digitized, they will be uploaded to the mobile devices and the data collection can start. The tool can be used offline, and most importantly, it\u2019s really simple and easy to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"9c92\" class=\"wp-block-image graf graf--figure graf-after--p\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/1440\/0*_D3VeadWok3l6s89.\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"901a\">After the data is collected in the field, it can be sent to the data server automatically or manually when the devices are connected to Internet. The process of synchronization is smooth and fast, allowing instant access to the data through the web application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"e40f\">When data is sent from the mobile devices to the data server, the data manager can start validating and managing the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image graf graf--figure graf-after--p\" id=\"3ae0\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/1440\/0*DrGe0VAvwUdrV5p_.\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"934f\">Through the home screen, the data manager can see statistics and a list of all submissions. The most important information on the screen is the instant identification of errors and potential fraud. The tool has a built-in algorithm that runs and marks submissions for potential errors or fraud. An error example is the system flagging a duplicate submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"3060\">This tool can also be used to generate results using the raw data collected in the field, see the defined results and send them to another external system such as DHIS2. Indeed, on the \u201cResults\u201d page, the data manager will see a list of all the results generated by the tool, she\/he can filter the information based on several parameters, and then decide to send the results to the external server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image graf graf--figure graf-after--p\" id=\"fc94\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/1440\/0*-YdajtF80SdRp6As.\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"1752\">After the results are sent, the status of the result will change into \u201cSent\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"3fda\">Working with data collection also requires management of questionnaires and users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"f470\">The data manager has the option to add users who will have access to enter data, and provide security and identification of the submitted data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image graf graf--figure graf-after--p\" id=\"3a39\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/1440\/0*eyEv-YTJZxAdDd7w.\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"5aeb\">In order to manage the questionnaires used in the data collection process, the data manager can update it or generate a new one from the DHIS2 server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image graf graf--figure graf-after--p\" id=\"7193\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/1440\/0*EI-HENh1Vcpi-FN7.\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--figure wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"3181\">From this screen, the data manager can also create automatic data elements in DHIS2, in order to connect the data collected with that which is stored on DHIS2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"16ab\">In short, using Data Collect really simplifies the data collection process and contributes to better overall data quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"graf graf--p graf-after--p wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"2819\">If you want to see the tool in action, please get in touch.
