At Bluesquare, partner satisfaction sits at the heart of everything we do. During a recent follow-up meeting, one of our partners, Bantwana shared a rich and detailed account of our collaboration covering technical support, system performance, security, and administrative management. We’re proud to share these insights with you.
Bluesquare’s technical expertise was also key in supporting Bantwana’s immediate migration from its previous partner, FACT, to Bantwana Zimbabwe, and in getting the OVCMIS system up and running right away following the USG Stop Work Order.
Our partner Bantwana highlighted a significant improvement in the system thanks to recent updates, along with rigorous maintenance that ensures reliable day-to-day operation.
Tinashe Chidenge, from the partner’s team, pointed to a smooth working relationship spanning several years, with no major issues encountered. He particularly praised the creation of a portal allowing real-time tracking of remaining service hours, a tool described as extremely useful for daily management.
Bantwana noted that the technology has kept improving over time, with earlier issues progressively resolved, while acknowledging that, as with any evolving system, new and less critical issues occasionally emerge: “The issues we previously experienced have all been resolved, so at this point, I don’t have any major concerns”.
On the performance side, Bantwana rated both responsiveness and issue resolution time 9 out of 10, while also highlighting the team’s proactive approach during DHIS2 system updates.
Beyond the numbers, it’s the quality of communication that stood out most to our partner. The Bluesquare team keeps both operational teams and supervisors informed about potential issues, planned updates, and anything requiring their attention.
This consistent, transparent communication has, according to Bantwana, made collaboration significantly smoother between the two teams.
Henry Ndumba, an end user on the partner side, confirmed that the system is expected to experience very little downtime once the migration to Bluesquare’s hosting is complete. Access speed for data entry, record retrieval and report extraction fully meets the project’s expectations.
He also emphasized the strong attention Bluesquare pays to data security:
“We have confidence that data is kept safe, protected, and encrypted when required.”
On the administrative side, Tinashe Chidenge highlighted Bluesquare’s flexibility in managing invoicing and contract extensions, despite funding constraints tied to donor requirements. During a period of funding uncertainty, Bluesquare’s account manager kept close track of the contracts and showed particular flexibility, supporting five consecutive months of short-term, monthly hosting arrangements through expedited contract renewals and invoicing that ensured services continued without interruption. The invoicing portal provides full transparency on billed periods, greatly simplifying management for the team.
Bluesquare also provided free advisory services to help Bantwana get the most out of the system, including guidance on new tools such as OpenHEXA to optimize their scripts. And the audit tool and system optimization support provided proved especially valuable for a partner with more limited prior experience managing DHIS2 and OVCMIS.
Notably, Bluesquare’s ability to keep services running while administrative matters were being resolved was praised as a real strength of the collaboration.
Internally, Michael Matiashe from Bluesquare’s technical team noted that the instance managed for this partner is among the largest in our portfolio, a genuine learning ground for managing large-scale DHIS2 instances. The technical team stepped in to address custom scripts causing instability, successfully optimizing them to stabilize the system long-term.
In conclusion, the partner expressed very high overall satisfaction, praising Bluesquare’s technical expertise, responsiveness, data security and administrative flexibility. This long-standing collaboration is an ongoing partnership that looks even more promising as both teams move forward together on a new migration project. Looking ahead, if further opportunities arise to work together, both teams could explore enhancements to reporting needs and customize more day-to-day reports.
“We’ve had a very positive experience working with your team, and we’re excited to continue working together, particularly as we move forward with the migration.”
At Bluesquare, feedback like this reinforces our daily commitment: combining technical excellence, security, and genuine partnership to support our partners for the long run !
